The 2022 K-POP MASTERZ EP.2 concert in Manila was held on September 23rd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and featured popular K-Pop artists such as GOT7’s Youngjae, ATEEZ, and iKON.

It’s incredible how PULP Live World’s K-POP MASTERZ can bring fandoms closer together, as three amazing fandoms – AHGASE, ATINY, and iKONIC – unite for the event!

1. Everybody adores Youngjae!

The first performer to heat up the Araneta stage was Youngjae. He opened the show with “Vibin,” then “Sugar,” and his charms captivated even the hearts of ATINY and iKONIC in the audience. He gave a brief interview to the host, Ryan Bang, before serenading fans with his song “Tasty.” He then moved to the extended stage to get a better view of the audience while performing “Focus”.

During the second interview, Ryan Bang asked the audience to sing Youngjae a belated Happy Birthday song. The touching harmony of AHGASE, ATINY, and iKONIC brought out Youngjae’s sunshine smile. After hearing them sing so heartwarmingly, Youngjae expressed his desire to return to Manila soon.

In the segment called “TMI Time”, Youngjae revealed interesting facts about him:

  1. He keeps diaries at home.
  2. He has GOT7 songs in his playlist and the Top 3 are “Girls Girls Girls”, “NANANA”, and “Never Ever”.
  3. He has a lot of white shirts in his wardrobe.
  4. He keeps a lot of unreleased songs in his computer so expect more music from him in the future!

After the interview, Youngjae threw signed balls and waved his goodbyes while singing “Crema”.

2. ATEEZ on fire!

For the first time in Manila, PH ATINY witnessed ATEEZ’s powerful performances live. ATEEZ blew minds with their first song, “Guerrilla”. Fans made sure ATEEZ felt the warmth of PH ATINY by cheering for them as loudly as they could.

After their first song, they briefly introduced themselves one by one and spoke some Filipino words – ‘Magandang gabi’, ‘Kumusta ka’ and ‘Salamat’. Hongjoong introduced their next song, stating that they chose to perform their debut song, “Pirate King,” because it was their first time in Manila. It was followed by another hit, “Say My Name” which hyped the crowd even more!

ATEEZ competed in games like Sepak Takraw, Archery, and Relay to win signed balls to give away to fans. Finally, they completed all of the missions with the assistance of the host, who provided them with opportunities to do so.

They continued the show by going around the Smart Araneta Coliseum with the song “Wave,” after which they said their final goodbyes, promising to return for a concert soon, and performed their final song, “The Real.”

Words can’t express how excited we are for them to return for a solo concert in Manila. They performed really well and even non-ATINYs were swooning over the eight members, who appeared in such great shape and with such stunning visuals.

3. IKON shook the Araneta Coliseum!

It’s been over two years since the last time iKON and PH iKONICs met yet they instantly clicked. When it’s time for iKON’s appearance, fans illuminated the coliseum red and screamed so loudly until we couldn’t hear ourselves anymore.

iKON began by performing “Sinosijak,” followed by “Rhythm Ta”. During a short interview with Ryan Bang, the members expressed their gratitude for seeing PH iKONICs again after such a long time. We could tell from their faces how delighted they are to see PH iKONICs!

They then performed “Bling Bling” before the host returned to facilitate the “Complete the Sentence” game with iKON. The members, being the great variety men that they are, made the audience laugh so hard in this segment.

Then, iKON played “Love Scenario,” a song that even non-iKONICs are familiar with. Following their performance, the band members gave fans their parting remarks, and Bobby moved the crowd by expressing concern that PH iKONICs might have forgotten about them. But as soon as they landed in Manila, they felt the warm air and how the iKONICs made them feel more special.

As they sang “FREEDOM,” their final song, they went around the stage to say goodbye. The crowd obviously couldn’t get enough of them so they screamed for an encore. iKON didn’t disappoint for they immediately returned with “But You”.

The reason that 2022 K-POP MASTERZ EP.2 is one of the best events we’ve attended this year is undoubtedly due to the fact that we had the best fandoms at one gathering! We are especially grateful to PULP Live World for letting us participate in this event.
