Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon made her much-awaited return to the Philippines last July 30 and if we’re going to describe The Odd of Love in Manila in two words, it would be the “best ~weekend.~” We know you miss her as much as we do, so here’s a little throwback of our favorite moments during the event.

When everyone was cheering prior to Taeyeon’s concert.

A concert experience is never complete without Filipino fans singing their hearts out minutes before the show starts. Last Sunday, the Araneta Coliseum was a beautiful sea of pink as Filo Sones wave their molarbongs—all while singing Taeyeon’s hit tracks like ‘11:11.’ They memorized each song by heart and at that time, it was such a magical moment to be a part of the crowd.

When Taeyeon was finally up on stage.

The goosebumps were real! Taeyeon holds so much power and we immediately felt it the moment we saw her shadow, much more when she started singing ‘INVU,’ the title of her third full-length album of the same name.

When Taeyeon shared her thoughts with Filo Sones.

During the event, Taeyeon said that she’s an introvert and an INFJ. She also asked her fans if MBTI is also popular in Manila just like in South Korea. Taeyeon further compared how she felt during the rehearsal versus when she was performing onstage. “Until that last moment I was thinking, ‘What would happen if I couldn’t go to Manila to have this concert? But finally, I am here to perform in front of you and I’m very happy.” She also thanked Filo Sones for giving her a warm welcome.

When she noticed her fans’ efforts.

We love an appreciative queen! Taeyeon took the banners made by Filo Sones as well as the purple cloth for the fan project and posed with them when it was time to take a photo. She also noticed a fan who was wearing a pink dinosaur costume, and another who dressed up as a banana! One thing we can’t forget was when she observed how we sang along to the entire setlist and said: “I think because you’re my fans that’s why you sing so well. But I wonder why you sing the hardest parts?’.

When she performed ‘Fine.’

All the songs that Taeyeon sang were remarkable but for some reason, hearing ‘Fine’ live just hits different. It felt like time stopped and it was so surreal to see her perform this, especially during the acapella part. Taeyeon promised that she’ll serenade Filo Sones next time with the tracks that she wasn’t able to sing on that day. We’ll wait for you, uri Taengoo!

Taeyeon’s concert was definitely a timeless memory and we are so grateful to DNM Entertainment for making this happen!
