TAEMIN shines on stage, capturing the hearts of his Filipino TAEMates (Taemin’s Fandom name), as he wrapped up his first solo world tour, the 2024 TAEMIN WORLD TOUR [Ephemeral Gaze], in Manila on November 24 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. The tour also stopped in Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Fukuoka, Jakarta, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore.
Standing in an elevated platform, Taemin kicked off his first solo tour in Manila with the performance of “DÉJÀ VU,” followed by “GUILTY” and “ADVICE.”
On his ment, Taemin greeted his fans in Filipino, saying, “Manila! Sigaw! Ako si Taemin! Na miss niyo ba ako?” He then recalled his last visit to the country and joked that the weather now in the country is cold, which made the audience laughed. He then added that he wanted to showcase different sides of himself during his world tour and wanted his fans to know that no matter how we look at Taemin, he still looks the same.
He ended the first half of his performances with ‘GOODBYE,’ ‘IDEA,’ and ‘HEAVEN.’
Taemin returned to the stage and brought a dreamy feel to the second half of the concert, displaying his singing prowess with ballad songs ‘I’M CRYING,’ ‘CLOCKWORK,’ and ‘NOT OVER YOU.’
With the help of the translator, Taemin was able to convey his messages to his Filipino fans. “You know a while ago, you were shouting my name right? I was really really touch,” he stated. He also mentioned how excellent his ballads and love songs were. Taemin asked fans to turn on their phone flashlights to maintain the dreamy mood, especially as he performed his next songs, ‘THE UNKNOWN SEA’ and ‘BLUE.’
After a powerful dance break from his dance crew, Taemin returned and brought swag to the dance floor with his recently released songs ‘G.O.A.T.,’ ‘THE RIZZNESS,’ and ‘SEXY IN THE AIR.’
Taemin sang the chorus of ‘SEXY IN THE AIR’ and commented about the way the audience enjoys his powerful performances. “What songs made you fall in love with me?” What are your favorite songs? he asked. The crowd chanted for their favorite SHINee songs, prompting Taemin to sing the chorus parts of renowned SHINee songs such as ‘RING DING DONG,’ ‘LUCIFER,’ ‘DON’T CALL ME,’ and ‘REPLAY,’ providing nostalgia from everyone in the crowd.
Taemin proceed in performing his main tracks ‘MOVE,’ ‘WANT,’ ‘CRIMINAL,’ and ‘HORIZON,’ and once again returned to the stage to perform his other hit songs ‘DANGER,’ and ‘CRUSH.’
“I hope these fleeting moments will last forever,” he said. Prior to his performance of ‘DANGER,’ the fans sung the chorus of ‘PANSY’, which touched Taemin: “Can you sing with me again, please? he asked. The emotional atmosphere echoed as he serenaded the audience with ‘HYPNOSIS.’
“Your passion is off the roof tonight. The time I can spend with you guys almost came to an end,” he said. Taemin asked the fans if they don’t want him to go when they chant “walang uuwi” and lightheartedly joked that korea air is waiting for him.
As a surprise, Filipino fans prepared a touching video fan project for Taemin. Taemin was moved by all of the love and support that he received, saying, “I think your hearts are so warm. Thank you so much with your love. We gonna meet again, right?
Before wrapping up his first world tour, Taemin promised to return to the Philippines then concluded his solo world tour with ‘SAY LESS.‘
“I have a lot of fun and I was happy tonight. Was I able to make precious memory with you tonight? Thank you so much, kita tayo ulit! Mahal kita.”
Without a doubt, the Ephemeral Gaze in Manila highlighted Taemin’s talents. His astounding dance prowess and vocals demonstrated that he is the Ace of K-pop and the idol of idols in this generation. His talents continue to shine on stage, proving that he is a legend in this industry.
