“Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul”: What should we look forward to?

An upcoming Philippine-South Korean action-comedy film by PULP Studios, Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul, is set to premiere on November 15, 2023. Directed by Kring Kim, with Happee Sy-Go as executive producer. The movie follows SPO4 Crisselda Kaptan, a courageous policewoman, on a secret mission to South Korea to arrest a fugitive while disguising herself as a tour guide. She then met people throughout her journey who delivered heartwarming moments and exciting adventures.

In celebration of 25th anniversary of PULP Live World, PULP ventures into the film industry with the debut of “Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul”. Established since 1999, PULP Magazine is the longest-standing magazine and PULP Live World as one of the Philippines’ largest event production and K-POP concert organizers that brought Super Junior, BTS, Enhypen, and NCT.

Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up Winner, takes the titular role, with other known Filipino artists Alora Sasam (Yas Cordero), Jennica Garcia (Joy Salazar), Karylle (Olga Tentativa), Bernadette Allyson-Estrada (Tita Gretch), Enzo Almario (Polly), Dustin Mayores (Prince), Pepe Herrera (Abraham Apostol), Manel Sevidal (Ella), Sela Guia (Jenny), Moon Kyung (Kim Bora), Gabriel Choi (Donghan), Louella Gomez (Marnee), and more.

The audience will be even more excited by the special appearance of South Korean actor Do Ji-Han, who is known for playing Ban Ryu Rang in the 2016 historical series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. He mentioned during the premiere night that he appreciated the cast’s high level of energy and humor on the set.

Fans will be also felt fascinated by the brief appearance of one of South Korea’s top actors and Nation’s Little Brother, Lee Seung Gi along with South Korean singer-songwriter and GFriend’s Main Vocal, YUJU. There will also a special performance of South Korean Rock Girl Group band, Rolling Quartz.

This film’s collaboration between the Philippines and South Korea increased the possibility of future international productions with PULP Studios. Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul is a much-anticipated film as it showcases different genres: action, comedy, drama, and oppa! Save the date, as it premieres in Philippine cinemas nationwide on November 15.
