He arrived in Manila last May 12 to the warm welcome of Filipino fans at the airport, where they screamed out their hearts for the singer whom they haven’t seen in flesh since the “Infinite Effect” concert last 2015.

Miss Universe Philippines, the organization that made this grand event possible, invited Nam Woo-hyun to serenade the people alongside American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez. This quickly caught on Filipino Inspirits as a rare chance to see their favorite idol after such a long time.

Woo-hyun opened the coronation night with two of his hits, “Shooting Star” which was the official soundtrack of the K-drama “Shxxting Stars”, and “Lonely Night”, a track from his most recent album “With” which was released last October 2021.

The Coronation Night proper occurred after Woo-hyun’s opening stage. It consisted of the trimming down of Miss Universe Philippines delegates till the Top 5, speeches from a few esteemed guests including the current Miss Universe R’bonney Gabriel, a stage from Jessica Sanchez, and some promotions from event sponsors and organizers.

After quite a long wait, Woo-hyun came back on stage to a loyal Inspirit audience. He performed his solo debut song “Still I Remember” and a track from his second album, “You’re My Lady”.

During his short gracing of the Miss Universe Philippines stage, he expressed his longing for his Filipino Inspirits by saying he was “excited to see them again after 8 years”. One message that probably stuck with all of Woo-hyun and Infinite’s fans was that it would be “nice to be together with fans again next year”, while remarking too that he wants to come back with his fellow Infinite members.

Woo-hyun’s visit and time back here in Manila after 8 years may be just a brief stop in his itinerary, but for his Filipino fans it was a moment they felt his infinite love for them.

Thank you again to CDM Entertainment for giving Kmusify the opportunity to cover this spectacular event that is truly universal!
