TIME TO BRING OUT THE CHAMPAGNE!

South Korean hip-hop group Epik High will be bringing Chapter 2 of the Epik High Is Here Asia Pacific Tour 2022 to Manila.

The legendary trio will hold their concert at the New Frontier Theater, 7:30 PM this coming November 30.

Their fans, High Skool, will be ready to explode, knowing that the group chose Manila as its initial Southeast Asian stop in the Asia Pacific leg of the tour.

Composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz, Epik High will be returning for a show in the Philippines after more than seven years. They held their first concert in the country, Epik High Concert Parade in Manila, way back in April 2015.

This upcoming concert banners the release of their highly anticipated 10th studio album in two parts, “EPIK HIGH is Here 上 (Part 1)’ & ‘EPIK HIGH Is Here 下 (Part 2).”

The hip-hop vets will provide the emotional outlet their Filipino fans need as they continue to deal with the ongoing pandemic. May it be raving to the emotive hip-hop track Born Hater or the universally-loved hit Happen Ending, or trying to keep themselves from singing the chart-topping song Fly, fans are assured that this will be a night to remember.

Just Keep Going

Two decades into the Korean Music scene, the group bears no plans of stopping. Being widely credited as one of the first acts to infuse hip-hop and rap into South Korea’s mainstream music, the trio has inspired fans and artists such as BTS, Seventeen, and B.I.

And in an interview with Vanity Fair, Tablo said that calling it quits never crossed the trio’s mind.

“I don’t think it’s an option for us to ever retire,” says Tablo. “You can only retire if this is your job, and 20 years into this, we can’t say this is a job anymore…. This is way more than a job. Epik High—this thing—has become life itself for us, and you don’t want to retire from life.”

Their singular blend of hip-hop and sharp lyrics which openly discuss themes like mental health and social issues will again make waves soon in the country.

The first Korean act to perform at Coachella in 2016, one of the headliners in the Hallyuween 2022 concert last October 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena, and most especially, musicians that inspire – these all sound like a Manila show you would not dare miss.
