A night where Bomshells and Blackjacks joined hands to have fun with Bom has ended but our thoughts are still at the New Frontier Theater dancing to ‘Fire’ by 2NE1 and singing along to ‘Spring’ by Bom ft. Dara.
The night started with Bom’s star studded performance of 2NE1’s 2010 song, ‘Fire’! A nostalgic way to start an event. Everyone was singing along and even dancing along with Bom.
The next song she performed was ‘Spring’, a song which also featured fellow 2NE1 member, Dara. This song truly did bring out more of Bom’s vocal prowess.
A fan concert isn’t complete without fan-idol interactions. Bomshells and Blackjacks proved that they were pure blooded fans when they flawlessly danced to some of 2NE1’s greatest hits.
The fans even danced a viral TikTok challenge in the Philippines, ‘Paru Paru G’ with Bom!
Bom performed a lot more songs in between the fan interactions and games but the performance that stood out the most was ‘Do Re Mi Fa Sol’. The way she sang every line and even tried to do the rap part was truly just delightful to see.
Before the night approached its end, the fans prepared a video for Bom. The video featured Bom during her debut with 2NE1 and her journey as a soloist after 2NE1. It was inevitable to get emotional while watching the video. The fans, the staff, and the hosts felt how emotional it got at that moment. Bom too, was at a loss for words after watching the video.
Despite having gotten so emotional, it did not stop her from giving her fans an amazing last performance and of course a few hearts and waves to the crowd.
For her encore performance, she performed ‘Lonely’. But as she crossed the stage to greet her fans one last time, she saw that she was never lonely.
The night may have gone quickly but in the hearts of Bom, Blackjacks, and Bomshells, its an event that will be cherished and remembered.
The week prior to Bom’s 1st Fan Concert in Manila, fellow 2NE1 member Minzy also had her fan concert in the same venue. A few days prior to Bom’s event, Dara was in the Philippines as well for SBS MediaNet’s Idol Truck Project. They might not have been in the same place at once but it’s still a win for Blackjacks!
