October 21,2022 is a date that is memorable for 5 K-POP fandoms and 5 K-POP Groups. An event that brought out the best screams from the fans and the best response from the idols.
DNM Entertainment brought 5 groups to Manila for the I-POP U 2022 concert that was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
And here’s how the night went for Filipino BLRIS, Villains, Czennies, Goldenness, and Wayzennies:
The first performer, ALICE, despite being announced just a day before the concert and being the only girl group in the line up, brought out cheers from the crowd as they entered the stage and performed their songs. The girls were here last May for the first ever K-POP concert since the pandemic. And since it’s been a while, they even gave us a sneak peak of a choreography that they are yet to perform with their new song on their upcoming comeback.
These girls made the start of the night sparkle and cheers were getting louder as they approached the extended stage where they wowed the crowd with a stunning performance.
The second performer, Xdinary Heroes, vamped up the energy in the venue as the jump started the crowd with their instruments and amazing voices. This group, which is under JYP’s sub-label Studio J, made a jaw dropping first impression to non-fans. And as the screams got louder, the boys also got overwhelmed from the support they were getting. The energy that the screams of the crowd gave to them was tenfold and each performance they did was just truly amazing.
They’ve expressed how they’ve always wanted to come to the Philippines and that their dream has finally come true because of I-POP U 2022 in Manila. During their ment, Jooyeon said that the concert will be an unforgettable memory for them, which Filipino Villains all agree that it’s truly a memorable moment for them too.
Screams got progressively louder as Golden Child entered the stage with a heart stopping performance.
One memorable moment that caught our attention was how this group was indeed kings of fan service as every performance they had on the extended stage, phones from the fans were gotten by the boys and they took either selfies or videos. Fan interactions peaked with every song they performed on that stage.
The boys stated during their MENT that it’s an honor to be able to meet everyone and to be able to perform that night in front of their Filipino Goldenness.
The vision that Wayzennies had of the night was different from what actually commenced, but that doesn’t mean that screams are any less or that cheers are lower. Despite not being able to perform as a full group, WayV tried their best to fill in the stage for the 2 missing members.
And once they came out from backstage, they were overwhelmed with how loud and long the cheering from the crowd went. They stood there, time seemingly stopped as they relished all the love and support their Filipino Wayzennies were giving them.
Of course despite not being able to perform as a full group, they did not leave empty handed. They sang and danced to their songs and some of the senior SM artist’s songs.
Their MENTs were filled with meaningful words. Yangyang said that he hopes to come back to Manila soon with full group performances and a new album. Hendery felt emotional and said that he feels like a fish out of water as he cannot live without Wayzennies.
For their final moment on stage, they sang Love Talk while giving away roses to the fans. The fan interactions during this part was truly heartwarming as they truly tried to give every section as much attention as they could.
The dream to see Beat Box live is a dream no more. NCT Dream enters the stage performing Beat Box for their Filipino NCTzens for the first time.
The passion of Filipino NCTzens when singing and cheering for NCT Dream was truly something that the boys themselves felt.
The passion of the fans is reciprocated by the boys in every performance and the Dreamies stated their memorable experiences in the few times they’ve come to the country.
Filipino Czennies have seen the boys perform Dive Into You in the country twice this year and yet we think this performance is better than the first. The boys interacted with the fans more this time around and they truly enjoyed the passionate screams and chants of the crowd.
And during their final moments on stage for the night, Jaemin said that they will be back soon and this time it will be with Haechan and Mark.
The night ended a little past 11pm but hearts were still buzzing and fans exited the venue with smiles. It may not have a perfect night but having all these artists perform for their Filipino fans was truly a night to remember.
