Vincenzo and Heartbeat actor, and 2pm’s rapper, Ok Taecyeon, held the second leg of his fan meeting “SpecialTY” in Manila on September 23, 2023 at the New Frontier Theatre. Filipino Hottest waited for 10 years to see him after his first appearance with 2pm members on their solo concert, “What time is it? “2013 2 PM Live Tour” in Manila.
Filipino Hottest erupted in cheers as Taecyeon entered the stage and began the performance with one of 2pm’s greatest singles, “Magic”. He displayed his dynamic dancing and rapping skills while performing his song, “Anyway”.
He then greeted his Filipino fans with his newly learned tagalog line: “Ako po si Borta. Masaya ako na makita kayo, Hottest.” Taecyeon shared that he googled translate the word “Borta” and it turns out to be “macho”.
During his “TYTime” segment, he was asked about the reason behind the name “SpecialTY.” He responded, saying,“I just wanted my name, Taecyeon “TY,” to be within the title as well. I wanted to have this fan meeting be special for me as well as you guys.”
He also told the fans the reason behind the photos taken during the “Heartbeat”.
Lucky fans were able to have their wishes granted during the second segment. Taecyeon personally went near the fans’ seats to give them a selfie and a hug. Filipino Hottest felt the love of Taecyeon as he personally prepared gifts for lucky fans; some received signed official SpecialTY tumbler and even the coffee he brewed on stage.
Filipino Hottest joined Taecyeon to sing and dance as he demonstrated electrifying performances for other hit singles from 2pm such as “Champagne”, “Jump”, “Hands Up”, and showcased his sweet vocals by singing “Toc Toc Toc” from his album Taecyeon Special: Winter Hitori.
As a present to his Filipino Hottest, he sang the popular OPM song “Forevermore” followed by the OST of Heartbeat’s “Vampire”, which he performed for the first time.
Ok Taecyeon was surprised to watch the fan project video prepared by fans, and he was grateful and moved by their heartfelt messages. At the end of the video, Filipino Hottest raised the banners with the inscription, “PH Hottests’ Hearts Will Always Beat For Ok Taecyeon.”
It may take a while for the 2pm members to be back but he promised that he would bring the other members with him.
During his press conference, he reminisced his memory of the Philippines.
“All Filipino fans were so supportive, so loud, they were so energetic. Having six of us on stage, it feels like all the fans are performing on stage too.”
He also mentioned that for the past 15 years of his career, it feels like it was just yesterday when they debuted in 2008, and he learned a lot of things from his experience and mistakes. He added that promoting as a group is easier in terms of responsibilities than as a solo artist, but he is thankful for the fans who are supporting him to overcome the obstacles.
“I hope that every moment you spend with me will be cherished as a special and memorable time for you”, he wrote on the signed postcard he gifted to the media staffs.
“Kahit na umuulan, salamat sa pag punta,” he said once more prior to ending the press conference. He then reminded his Filipino fans that “No, it’s thank YOU”.
Ok Taecyeon debuted in 2pm as the group’s rapper in 2008 and in 2010 he started his career as an actor in the Korean drama Cinderella’s Sister, followed by the Dream High and with his latest drama, Heartbeat.
