OSTs or Original Soundtracks isn’t something new in the film industry. It also isn’t new for actors in the film or series to sing one of the songs in the soundtrack. What’s new is that, the OSTs in Cutie Pie the Series is a cultural reset. Each song in the series was crafted to fit every scene and every emotion that the character was feeling.

The cast of Cutie Pie the Series left BL stans astonished with their talents, not only in acting but also in singing! Zee Pruk, Nunew Chawarin, Nat Nattasit, and Tutor Koraphat showed their talents as they sang OSTs for the series.

With each of the characters with their own story to tell, join us as we take a deep dive into the Cutie Pie OSTs:

Let’s start of by touching the surface of the water with NuNew’s first OST, ‘ไอ้คนน่ารัก (My Cutie Pie)’. This song can be heard during the intro of every episode and it stuck to everyone as it’s a very bubbly song. It might be NuNew’s debut as a singer, but he surely did not disappoint. He also did not disappoint as this series is his debut in the entertainment industry as well.

Dipping into the water and into the series, NuNew showed more of his vocal prowess as his role in the series, Kuea with the stage name Kirin, is an underground singer/musician. His second OST, ‘How You Feel’ was released. The emotion of his character in the series was expressed well with this song. How troubled he feels not knowing how his fiancé, Hia Lian is feeling about their impending marriage.

We’re knee deep into the water as Nat Nattasit’s character in the series, Kon Diao, suddenly feels troubled with how his fiancé, Hia Yi acted towards him. In English, his name meant alone. Nat’s OST for this series, ‘คนเดียว (Alone)’, reflected so much of his character and how he felt alone despite having his fiancé.

Waist deep in the water and we’ve arrived at an answer to NuNew’s ‘How You Feel’. Zee Pruk’s character, Hia Lian has finally realized that it’s always been Kuea that he wanted. It took a lot for them to finally communicate, and Zee answers NuNew’s song with his OST, ‘Always You’.

We’re fully in the water! Tutor, or Nuer in the series, first thought he liked Kuea but later on he realized that the feelings he harbored for Kuea was just as a friend and he’s developed a liking towards Kuea’s friend, Syn (Yim Pharinyakorn). ‘เป็นไปได้ไหมเธอ (Suddenly)’, Tutor’s OST for the series was like a letter for his character’s love interest, Syn.

These aren’t the only ones part of the whole soundtrack, but these are the ones that gave more meaning to each pair. The rest of the soundtrack fits perfectly in every episode of the series. Every emotion was perfectly portrayed in each song. Which is why Cutie Pie the Series isn’t just a great watch, it’s also a great playlist to listen to. Great actors and great singers.
