Did you feel the whirlwind that happened over the weekend? Thai Stars Freen Sarocha And Becky Armstrong, popular as a tandem FreenBecky, made their way to Manila shores to meet Filipino fans who welcomed them with open arms.

Although the duo did have other plans during this visit, which includes the Fabulous Fanboom in Cebu and Manila last April 21 and 23, this particular event they participated in is a special one.

CHERRY PICKED FOR AROMAGICARE

Aromagicare, a proudly local Philippine brand focused on healthy living and essential oils, has signed on Freen and Becky to be their Thai ambassadors. To celebrate their venture, Aromagicare held the FreenBecky FanSign Launch for fans to meet their favorite stars.

The brand already has a number of ambassadors but they specifically wanted a Thai personality to represent them. According to April Martin and Pauline Publico, founders of Aromagicare, they asked a number of people for their suggestions and FreenBecky came out on top. They even went all the way to Thailand to meet the Thai stars  and make sure their collaboration would go smoothly.

Martin and Publico expressed that, while Freen and Becky are very talented as artists and very stunning individuals, the most important factor was that they believe in their potential to grow as artists.

AN EVENT OF CORE MEMORIES

The event was filled to the brim with a lot of special guests during the program. While Freen and Becky were the main stars of the launch, other local celebrities were there as well.

Aromagicare ambassador Tiktok Star Queenay did a few dance numbers and songs to hype the audiences. Ken Chan, also an ambassador, opened the show to warm them up for the event.

There were also other guests: singer Ice Seguerra, who did a touching acoustic set; actress Glaiza De Castro, who gave roses, and sang and danced with Freen and Becky; and Mark Bautista, who serenaded the audience.

REPRESENTING INCLUSIVITY

Freen and Becky are well known for their work in the Lakorn series “Gap,” which is in the girl’s love (GL) genre. Along with the interesting storyline, the message resonated with many who watched it.

According to a previous interview with Manila Bulletin, they wanted to do the series to show that there aren’t any barriers when it comes to love. In fact, when they got their scripts they viewed it as material they were excited to play. The roles of being lesbian lovers didn’t faze them as they wanted people to see the relationship just as a normal couple.

Many of the fans who were present at the fansign, were very touched by what the girls represented through their series. It was touching to see couples at the event and excited to meet the girls during the fansign.

Even guests such as singer Ice Seguerra and Glaiza de Castro expressed how much the girls, and the genre of GL, has made it easier to show that love is limitless and shouldn’t be held back based on someone’s gender. Although the LGBTQ+ community still faces obstacles, compared to many years ago, there is more understanding and compassion now.

Their visit has definitely warmed fans’ hearts after fans’ only watched them through a screen. The two girls heard and felt the warm welcome Filipino fans gave them. And it’s safe to say, they’re also looking forward to the next time they come to visit the Philippines again.

This event is brought to you by Aromagicare and CDM Entertainment.
