On January 15, 2023, Manila was treated to an Above Ordinary concert experience as Simon Dominic, Gray, Loco, Lee Hi, Yugyeom, and Woo brought their ‘Follow The Movement’ World Tour to town. Presented by Pulp Live World and Happee Hour, the night was filled with energy, dynamic performances, and unforgettable music.

Here’s a closer look during that night!

WOO 우원재

Woo, the third-place finisher in the sixth season of Show Me The Money, made an entrance that instantly lit up the New Frontier Theater stage. He made us dance and go wild with his catchy raps! “R.I.P.,” “Chik Chik Pok Pok,” “Pop It,” “Chingiz Khan,” and “Me” are a few of the songs he sang live.

Woo mentioned during the show that his trip to Cebu, which took place months before his return to the Philippines, was the best trip of his life. However, he had a change of heart after performing in front of his Filipino fans. “Today is the best!,” Woo uttered.

Everyone in the venue can vouch for how well-loved Woo is. “Woo! Woo! Woo!” was being chanted by all every time there was a chance. In addition, Woo kept emphasizing that he didn’t want to go till the very end. However, it’s time to part ways and welcome the next performer.

LEE HI 이하이

We weren’t let down when we learned who would be on the stage next! Everyone’s princess, the grandeur, sparkled in her attire—the one and only Lee Hi. She was received with a warm welcome and applause.

Beginning with “Only,” “Breathe,” and “Savior,” she went on to sing “Rose,” “H.S.K.T,” “No One,” “1,2,3,4”, and “Red lipstick.”

Lee Hi had everyone swaying to her R&B songs and her unexpectedly sensual yet powerful raps. Indeed, Lee Hi was truly exceptional and her presence alone was one in a million.

We had a wonderful time with her, and we will always remember her saying that the Filipino crowd that night was made up of their “real” fans.

LOCO 로꼬

Even before the show started, we could already sense the upbeat spirit from the artists.

From the time Loco stepped onto the stage, he got the crowd hyped up by performing songs like “Party Band,” “Sweaty,” “MBTI,” “Too Much,” “Don’t,” “Like Water,” “Oppa,” “It Takes Time,” and many more.

Midway through the show, Loco informed us that he had heard “Say Yes,” a song of his and an original soundtrack from the Korean drama “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”, was well-liked in the Philippines. He requested that the song be played in order to confirm this, and he was surprised by the overwhelming response of the audience. You must see how he reacted because it is so adorable below!

GRAY 그레이

Gray, the charming rapper and producer, was the next to take the stage!

He had a vibrant performance that grabbed our attention from beginning to end. He performed a number of songs, including “TMI,” “Moon Blue,” “Summer Night,” “Lose Control,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” “U,” and “Stay The Night.”

Gray was mesmerizing to watch as he seamlessly switched between singing and rapping. And much more so with his musical prowess using instruments. Unquestionably a genius artist!

YUGYEOM 유겸

Here comes Yugyeom

We immediately noticed the fans waving their Aghabongs (GOT7’s lightsticks) as soon as he entered the stage. This was something that Yugyeom quickly observed and brought up in his ment.

Yugyeom had us charmed by his unique vocals and epic dancing skills. The songs he performed included “I Want U Around,” “Take You Down,” “Lights,” “All About U,” “Running Through The Rain,” “All Your Fault,” “Love The Way,” and his most recent single, “Ponytail.”

We were definitely kept on the edge of our seats by Yugyeom’s performance!

ENCORE

Woo, Lee Hi, Loco, Gray, Yugyeom, and Simon Dominic joined forces for a strong finale. It was an encore that made the crowd dance and sing along. It was so amazing to witness how much fun everyone was having and how happy everyone was.

It’s not easy to put together a concert like this and be able to have a flawless flow till the encore, but boy did it succeed! The show went off without a hitch and the experience is undoubtedly incredible!

Overall, it was a night that exceeded expectations and left a lasting impression on us. We definitely had an Above Ordinary concert experience, and we’d do it all over again if given the chance.
