Thanks to Pulp Live World, Yugyeom will return to the Philippines on August 19, 2022 as a solo artist, three years after the renowned sold-out show #GOT7KeepSpinningInMNL.

Let’s take a look at what else you can learn about him ahead of his solo concert on Friday at the New Frontier Theatre.

Yugyeom grew up in Saudi Arabia

In 2016, Yugyeom disclosed in their STAR Interview that he was born in South Korea but spent some time growing up in Saudi Arabia before settling to his hometown due to his father’s job.

Yugyeom is one of Hanlim Multi Art School’s legendary F5

Hanlim Arts High School is one of the best-known schools among K-Pop stars. Because of this, it is not uncommon when well-known artists are associated with one another. The five celebrities who make up Hanlim’s infamous F5—GOT7’s Yugyeom, AB6IX’s Woong, OnlyOneOf’s Yoojung, Pentagon’s KINO, and Cho Seungyoun—particularly captured the attention of netizens.

Yugyeom is a loving furdad

Animals are close to GOT7’s heart. In particular, Yugyeom is a furdad to Dalkyum, a black male Pomeranian, which frequently appears on his lives. Yugyeom even created a special Instagram account for his beloved dog.

Yugyeom is GOT7’s tallest member

Yugyeom is the group’s tallest member despite being the maknae (or youngest) in the group.  Because of his height and mature appearance, he has sometimes been misidentified as the oldest.

Yugyeom choreographed “If You Do” with Jinyoung

Along with Jinyoung (another GOT7 member), Yugyeom participated in developing the choreography for their smash track “If You Do.”

Yugyeom is part of the famous ‘97 liner squad

Same-age friendships are a norm in the K-Pop industry. The ’97 Liner Squad, which consists of his bandmate Bambam, BTS’ golden maknae Jungkook, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo, NCT’s visual Jaehyun, and SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, DK, and THE8, is one of, if not the most, well-known friendship groups. When this gang posts, even a simple group selfie sends the internet into a frenzy.

Yugyeom is now under AOMG

Following the expiration of his contract with JYP Entertainment, Yugyeom signed an exclusive deal with Above Ordinary Music Group (AOMG), founded by rapper Jay Park, to take a step further into his a career. Yugyeom released his first solo album “Point Of View: U” featuring collaborations with Gray, Loco, Punchnello, and more.
